About our Hemp & Rose Face Lotion
When it comes to bath, body and skincare products, we aim to keep it simple. We don’t believe that you need every type of ingredient under the sun to keep your skin feeling healthy, supple and vital. While certainly anyone can use our Hemp & Rose Face Lotion, the ingredients in this formula have been specially selected for complexions of age 30+.
Hemp seed oil
Hemp seed oil has amazing benefits for the delicate skin of the face. In fact, we wrote a whole blog article on it. (Read 4 Reasons To Include Hemp Seed Oil In Your Skincare Routine.) Hemp seed oil has a naturally high vitamin E content. It’s great for reducing redness, inflammation and fights against certain undesirable skin conditions that may appear as our skin matures.
It also works to perfectly balance the skin’s moisture levels by having an excellent balance of both lipophilic and hydrophilic properties. This means it first attracts moisture to it and then locks it in. Its light and smoothing texture leaves your skin feeling plump and hydrated without the heavy, slick or greasy feeling that other oils can cause – a difference you have to feel to understand!
Olive oil
Olive oil is a beautiful ingredient for mature and maturing skin. It contains squalene; a lipid also found in our own skin cells. It helps to plump up the complexion and make it very, very soft. It has been shown to reduce symptoms of ageing, reduce inflammation and brings down redness.
Rose water
Rose water has been used in facial care products for a long, long time. It’s no wonder too – rose extracts make your skin as soft as dewy rose petals. You’ll find rose essential oil, rose extract and rose water as the star ingredient in many highly priced boutique skincare products. Especially for mature and maturing skin types. We’ve harnessed the gentle power of this classic ingredient for our face lotion. Everyone who tries it comments on the beautiful rose fragrance!
Use of preservative
We generally avoid the use of any synthetic ingredients in our products, be it food, bath products or skincare. However, anything that has any water content must contain a small amount of preservative. This ensures its stability and safety of use. If a stabilising preservative is not included in aqueous products, it creates an environment for microbial growth. The preservative in our creams and lotions (OptiPhen Plus) has been specially formulated for natural cosmetics. It is free of harmful toxins such as petrochemicals, parabens and formaldehydes. It occurs in a quantity of only 1% which is the minimum amount to ensure the safety and longevity of the product.
